A Simple Idea
Garden Walk Buffalo began in 1995 with a simple idea of fostering community through gardening. The event has grown to over 400 gardens and is a premier event in the City of Buffalo, occurring the last weekend of July, rain or shine, every year. To any architecture and planning enthusiasts, its worth strolling through participating gardens to see Buffalo’s wonderful urban residences, even if you think you have a black thumb!
Stories Shared
Buffalo Architecture Foundation began Building (and Garden) Stories, as part of our Building Stories mission, three years ago. The program adds another layer to the Walk. Look for BAF signage and scan QR codes with your smartphone along the way to hear these interesting stories. Current stories range from a simple story about a coal bucket turned flower pot to impressive before-and-after’s of home and garden renovations.
We Want You!
If you or someone that inspires you is a gardener on the Walk, please consider sharing your story. There is no deadline for submissions, but we appreciate receiving stories by Monday July 24, to process and be visible prior to the big weekend! Submit your story here.
